2017 Product Focus - Helping Your Municipality

Meet HB 422 Requirements

2016 was a year of big change for Code Enforcement in Kentucky. The signing of HB 422 into law on April 9 resulted in comprehensive code enforcement reform by consolidating code enforcement provisions and extending lien priority provisions.

Some of the key benefits for this consolidated approach include:

  • Expansion of Code Enforcement Board authority
  • Ability to obtain and maintain lien priority
  • Increased efficiency and streamlining of enforcement activities
  • Easier to eliminate blight & execute on community improvement projects

MapIn partnership with our clients in Kentucky, Comcate has developed a new module for a public notification system to help clients address HB 422. Chief Mike Gunn of Fulton, Kentucky has shared this with us regarding Comcate’s Code Enforcement and Public Notification system:

"Comcate is an integral part of our Code Enforcement program. The tools within Code Enforcement Manager allow our officers to be efficient and stay on top of follow-ups.

An important part of our partnership with Comcate is their proactive approach and willingness to work with us to address our evolving needs. A good example of this is the work we have recently done to define the enhancements to the software to include functionality for HB 422 requirements."
