Wichita Falls, TX Announces New Web Site and Access Wichita Falls

Jun 12,2006

City leaders are proud to announce the debut of a brand new website for the City of Wichita Falls.(...) The City has completely redesigned its website to offer improved services to internet users. The site offers a vibrant layout, hundreds of pages of information, enticing photos, and much more.

The web address remains the same, www.cwftx.net, so internet users can quickly find the new site. The easy to navigate design has many new features including news flashes, answers to frequently asked questions, document centers, archived records, many downloadable forms, calendar of events, bid and job postings with automatic notifications, e-notifications and more.

Future plans for the site include new e-commerce services allowing citizens to register and pay for City services on-line. Planned modifications also include an on-line job application module to allow citizens and interested candidates for City jobs to submit their applications on-line.

Along with the new layout, the City is offering an easy to use, citizen response tool called Access City Hall, provided by Comcate. Access City Hall gives staff and customers the ability to manage and track the status of all requests or complaints whether they are registered via email, telephone or postal mail. Customers will essentially have 24/7 access to City Hall online and will receive status updates via email so they know that their case has not slipped through the cracks. For instance, a resident sends an e-mail request to the public works department for a pothole repair. The service request is automatically routed to the correct staff person. When the pothole is scheduled for repair, the customer is notified of this.

“I am confident that citizens will find the new website informative and useful,” said City Manager Darron Leiker.

“The website and Access City Hall feature in particular, affirms our commitment to customer service. With these new and innovative tools, staff will be able to respond to citizen requests more efficiently and effectively," said Leiker.

To sign up for Access City Hall, just click those words in the left hand panel of the new website and follow the simple instructions. The new site went on-line today. For more information please contact the City of Wichita Falls Public Information Office at 761-740.
