Single Officer Can Manage More Cases and More Territory with Better Compliance Results
Apr 20,2010
An hour west of Dallas/Fort Worth, the City of Eastland is experiencing growth while trying to maintain a small town feeling and a cache of rich historical lore. A single officer reporting to the Chief of Police is managing all code compliance and animal control cases for the City’s 5,500 residents. The City Manager and Chief of Police felt it was a priority to maximize this officer’s effectiveness with software to help him track complaints. Like most of Comcate’s tens of thousands of Code Enforcement Manager software users, this officer will use Comcate Code Enforcement Manager from his laptop in his vehicle while patrolling the City and responding to complaints. He will access the web software through the internet, saving his department the expense of onsite software maintenance and upgrades. He can view up to date case histories on a property while on-site, track ownership, make notes, upload photos and documents and view his updated activity report – all without returning to the office. Because cases are managed more quickly and with more standardization and documentation, the Court will be able to process the cases faster and the City will experience better compliance and increased collections. Cities who face urban blight or a significant percentage of foreclosed properties especially appreciate the ability to access case histories at the click of a button and generate reports on demand. And small cities and towns where officers patrol large territories really enjoy being able to do all administration from the field so they can spend their valuable time on inspections in the community.
